About this part
What it does.
The downpipe is the first section after the turbo, and the standard one carries the main catalytic converter and the petrol particulate filter (GPF). Taking them out lets the turbo spool sooner and the engine breathe out more freely.
Removing a catalyst or a GPF changes what the engine sees, so the map is changed with it: we write that on our own rolling road.

No. Removing a catalytic converter or a GPF on a road car is an MOT failure and against the law in the UK. It is sold for competition and off-road use.
Does the car need a remap with it?
Yes. Without the catalyst the engine sees different readings, so the map is changed to suit. We write it on our own rolling road.
