About this part
What it does.
The downpipe is the first section after the turbo, and the standard one carries the main catalytic converter. Taking them out lets the turbo spool sooner and the engine breathe out more freely.
Removing a catalyst changes what the engine sees, so the map is changed with it: we write that on our own rolling road.
For competition and off-road use. Taking out a catalytic converter on a road car fails the MOT and is against the law in the UK.
Fitted at MMT
We fit it at our workshop in Nottingham and map the car to suit on our own rolling road, with a printout of what it makes before and after.

Is it road legal?
No. Removing a catalytic converter on a road car is an MOT failure and against the law in the UK. It is sold for competition and off-road use.
Does the car need a remap with it?
Yes. Without the catalyst the engine sees different readings, so the map is changed to suit. We write it on our own rolling road.
